Aberdeenshire Council sets one calendar for schools from Fraserburgh and Peterhead to Inverurie, Stonehaven and Laurencekirk. Pupils started the 2026/27 session on Wednesday 19 August 2026, after two in-service days. The next break is the October holiday, from Monday 12 to Friday 23 October.
Term 2 ends on Tuesday 22 December. Schools reopen after Christmas on Tuesday 5 January 2027. There are five in-service days this session.
They fall on 17 and 18 August, 13 November, and 9 and 10 February. The February break is short: a mid-term day on Monday 8 February, then the two in-service days. Easter is a two-week spring holiday from Monday 29 March to Friday 9 April 2027.
Good Friday, 26 March, is also a holiday. The session ends on Thursday 1 July 2027. One feature of Aberdeenshire is its local holidays, which differ from school to school.
Some schools add occasional days around the February break or at the end of May. Check your own school's calendar for these extra days.
