Falkirk Council runs schools across Falkirk, Grangemouth, Bo'ness, Larbert, Stenhousemuir, Denny and Polmont. Pupils went back on Wednesday 12 August 2026. The big break this autumn is a two-week October holiday, from Monday 12 to Friday 23 October.
Term restarts on Monday 26 October. Monday 30 November is a staff development day, so pupils get a long weekend. Schools close for Christmas after Tuesday 22 December and reopen on Tuesday 5 January 2027.
February brings a four-day weekend. Thursday 11 February is a staff development day, and the local holiday covers Friday 12 and Monday 15 February. Good Friday and Easter Monday, 26 and 29 March, are also local holidays.
The Easter holiday then runs from Monday 5 to Friday 16 April. Another long weekend comes in spring. Friday 30 April is a staff development day and Monday 3 May is the May Day holiday.
There are five staff development days in the session. The summer term ends on Friday 25 June 2027. In 2027/28 pupils return on Wednesday 11 August 2027.
