Clackmannanshire Council covers Alloa, Tullibody, Tillicoultry, Alva, Dollar and Clackmannan. It has one of the earliest school years in Scotland. Pupils started on Wednesday 12 August 2026 and finish on Friday 25 June 2027.
The council uses a fixed pattern. The October holiday is two weeks from the second full week of October. In 2026 that is Monday 12 to Friday 23 October.
The Easter holiday always starts on the first Monday in April, whatever the date of Easter. In 2027 Easter is early, so Good Friday and Easter Monday fall in term. Schools close on 26 and 29 March, then break for Easter from Monday 5 to Friday 16 April.
There are five staff development days in 2026/27. They are 10 and 11 August, 27 November, and 8 and 9 February. The February days join the half-term holiday, so pupils are off from Monday 8 to Friday 12 February 2027.
Christmas runs from Wednesday 23 December 2026 to Monday 4 January 2027. In 2027/28 pupils return on Wednesday 11 August 2027.
