Glasgow City Council sets the term dates for its schools across the city. Pupils went back on Wednesday 12 August 2026. The next break is October week, from Monday 12 to Friday 16 October.
Friday 9 October is an in-service day, so pupils have ten days off in a row. Schools close at 2.30pm on Friday 18 December for Christmas. They reopen on Tuesday 5 January 2027.
The February mid-term break is Monday 15 and Tuesday 16, then an in-service day on Wednesday 17. Good Friday and Easter Monday fall on 26 and 29 March. The spring break comes later, from Monday 5 to Friday 16 April, after a 2.30pm finish on 2 April.
There are five in-service days. The May weekend closes schools on Friday 28 and Monday 31 May. The session ends at 1pm on Friday 25 June 2027.
The Glasgow Fair holiday falls in the summer break, on Saturday 17 July 2027. For 2027/28, pupils return on Wednesday 18 August 2027.
