Renfrewshire's 2026/27 calendar in brief

Renfrewshire Council runs the state schools in Paisley, Renfrew, Johnstone, Erskine and the surrounding villages. Pupils go back on Tuesday 18 August 2026, after in-service days on Friday 14 and Monday 17 August. There is a long September weekend on Friday 25 and Monday 28 September.

The October holiday is a single week, from Monday 12 to Friday 16 October. Monday 19 October is an in-service day, so pupils return on Tuesday 20 October. Schools also close for the St Andrew's Day holiday on Monday 30 November.

The last day before Christmas is Tuesday 22 December, and schools re-open on Wednesday 6 January 2027. Easter is split in two this session. Schools close on Good Friday 26 March and Easter Monday 29 March, then reopen for four days.

The two-week spring holiday runs from Monday 5 to Friday 16 April. There are five in-service days in 2026/27. The session ends on Wednesday 30 June 2027.

The council has also published the 2027/28 calendar, with pupils returning on Wednesday 18 August 2027.
